8:45PM | GLIS
Glis (Norwegian for “sleazy grin” or “broad smile”) is an electronic music project founded in 2001 by Shaun Frandsen of Seattle, WA. The band has experienced several lineup changes and guest appearances, with frontman Shaun Frandsen acting as primary producer, vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Shaun Frandsen produced the first Ayria album (“Debris”) in 2003. Notable guest, Jean-Luc De Meyer of Front 242, contributed vocals for two studio tracks on the album "Nemesis" in 2005. Glis (Shaun F.) has toured extensively with Combichrist both as a supporting act and a live member.
9:45PM | DJ? ACUCRACK
Formed in 1997 as “DJ? Acucrack”, the project was initially a way to share the pure electronic style of the Acumen Nation “backing tracks”, heavily requested by the bands fanbase. Acucrack quickly pivoted to original material and received their own imprint (Lost In Bass Records) via the Slipdisc label in Chicago. Under the new moniker, Jason Novak and Jamie Duffy released an EP and LP in 1997, creating expansive live sets and tours with Curve, C-Tec and Cubanate in the 90s, before signing to E-Magine Entertainment for their seminal “Sorted” LP in 2000.
Acucrack’s fusing of techno, breakbeat, drum n bass, industrial and ambient soundscapes soon garnered as much support and attention as the original Acumen project… which eventually led to the creation of Cracknation Records (under Underground Inc. distribution) which would become home to all Novak-related projects (Acumen, Acucrack, Fawn, Iron Lung Corp and Czar to name a few). Touring would expand to include support slots with KMFDM and Front Line Assembly plus 3 albums in the aughts… before the passing of Jamie Duffy in 2012. Novak would release one last album under the Acucrack moniker in 2013, “The Mawn Reproduction”, including demo programming from Duffy and additional support from Sean Payne (Cyanotic). After a decade of low-profile remix work and a handful of solo appearances, all signs point to brand new Acucrack material in 2025.
