With one eyeliner-stained eye looking back over a black-clad shoulder, harkening to the dark electronic music of the past, yet seductively mixed with bleeding-edge production drawn from modern electronic genres.
This project is an outlet for the ravaged, the lost and fucked-up souls.
Raw, visceral chronicles encased in a slick dichotomy of infectious Bass Music and Dark Pop/Electro, with even darker emotional themes.
Embrace the delicious somber sonnets and electro-dirge of Adoration Destroyed... The forlorn, the obliterated...this is for You.
Double Eyelid was formed in Toronto in 2009, as a vehicle for the songs and vision of lead singer and central band member Ian Revell. Initially an arty post-punk project formed with a couple of close friends (Karl Mohr – also known for his Dead Red Velvet project – and Benjamin Mueller-Heaslip), a couple of fateful decisions made in 2011 shifted the project firmly in the ‘goth’ direction. The first was to abandon the use of a drummer in favour of a drum machine, both live and in the studio. The second was to collaborate with horror filmmaker Steven Cerritos on the band’s first single and video, “Dead is Better.” Released in July of 2012, this video marked Double Eyelid’s true international debut, and was featured by MuchMusic, Canada’s equivalent to MTV, and covered on numerous blogs worldwide.
Since the release of the band’s Re:Versiondebut in 2004, Particle Son has undergone a massive transformation to become one of the most acclaimed performing acts in the Pacific Northwestern industrial music scene. Spearheaded by Vex March and Jared Scott, and now joined by Sandi Leeper, the group’s blend of searing electro/industrial sequences with acerbically sociopolitical lyrics has shown Particle Son to be on an upward trajectory to greater heights of recognition and creativity.
